Shalom u'Vrachah!
... Regarding your question about attending the wedding of Ploni ben Ploni. In general, it is not appropriate to hold a grudge, especially since every Jew believes in Divine Providence. One must be confident that Elokim Chashavah LeTovah (G‑d intended it for good), and particularly as explained in Chassidus, in the teachings of the Baal Shem Tov and Chassidus (see Iggeres HaKodesh of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe section 25). Therefore, one should participate in the joy of a fellow Jew or especially a relative. As for how long to spend there—whether only at the chuppah or also later, and similar questions—one should consult with Anash who are present at that location.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches to avoid holding grudges and to trust in Divine Providence. Participating in a relative's simchah is encouraged, while practical details can be decided with guidance from local Anash.
