In due course I was pleased to receive your telegram about the start of the study term at the holy Yeshiva Achei Temimim Lubavitch under your leadership. It was even more pleasant for me to hear your regards through Haraha"ch Rav Poalim etc. Maharachma HaChet HadaKov, and the content of his words in the telephone conversation: that the goal you set to reach three hundred students has already been achieved. Naturally, I was especially happy with his concluding words that you regret having originally spoken about three hundred when you should have spoken about five hundred. This gives me hope that you and your wife will recognize the greatest possible opportunities given to you for developing and expanding Achei Temimim Yeshiva in New Haven, and that it depends only on willpower, for the ability is ready and waiting for you to utilize it as needed.

May it be G‑d's will that soon you will recognize that even five hundred is not the ultimate goal in New Haven, and there is always room to ascend from level to level ever higher—especially now as we have just entered the month of Kislev, which is the month of victory for Admor Hazaken, founder of Chabad and its matters; through his imprisonment and self-sacrifice which ended in victory above and below, it was decreed in the Heavenly Court that in every matter of Torah, fear of Heaven, and good character traits, those connected to him and following in his footsteps will always prevail.
