- וכבר ידוע במסורת חב"ד אשר רבנו הזקן בעל התניא והשו"ע בירר נוסח זה מכמה עשיריות נוסחאות, וכיון שהתפלה ענינה גם להעלות את כל עניני האדם הרוחנים וגם הגשמים, מובן מזה שהרוצה להיות נמנה על חסידי רבנו הזקן מהנכון ביותר וטוב להתפלל בהנוסח אשר קבע, ועד"ז הוא גם בהנוגע לקשר של תפילין ושאר ענינים הקשורים בתפלה.
כבקשתו יזכירו את כל אלה שכותב אודותם על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

In response to your recent letter from Menachem Av, in which you write about the prayer text and the knot of tefillin: It is already well known in Chabad tradition that our master, the Alter Rebbe, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch, selected this version from among many dozens of versions. Since prayer is meant to elevate all aspects of a person's life—both spiritual and material—it follows that one who wishes to be counted among the Chassidim of the Alter Rebbe should most properly and ideally pray with the version he established. The same applies regarding the knot of tefillin and other matters connected to prayer.
As you requested, all those you wrote about will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe—may his merit protect us.
