במענה על מכתבו ממוצש"ק. לפלא שאינו מזכיר דבר מפעולותיו במקום בו נמצא בהנוגע לעניני יהדות, כוונתי להשפיע על חבריו שיתקרבו יותר לתורה ומצותי', והעיקר בהנוגע לפועל, והרי כל עניני איש הישראלי הם בשביל שיוכל למלאות תפקידו העיקרי, בלשון המשנה אני נבראתי לשמש את קוני, אשר שימוש זה נעשה ע"י אורח חיים מתאים להוראת תורתנו תורת חיים ובהשפעה על הסביבה בכגון דא, ובפרט שמתכונן ללמוד גם קורס קצינים שזהו עוד מגדיל האחריות שלו בכל האמור. ומובן ופשוט שבכל יום ויום צריך להיות לו שיעור קבוע בלימוד תורת הנגלה ותורת החסידות, נוסף על שלשת השיעורים הידועים בחומש תהלים ותניא. ויה"ר שיבשר טוב בכל האמור.

In response to your letter from Motzaei Shabbos Kodesh. It is surprising that you do not mention anything about your activities in the place where you are regarding matters of Judaism—specifically, influencing your friends to draw closer to Torah and mitzvos—and most importantly, regarding practical action. Indeed, all aspects of a Jewish person's life are so that he can fulfill his primary role, as expressed in the language of the Mishnah: 'Ani nivra'ati leshammesh es koni' (I was created to serve my Creator), and this service is accomplished through a way of life that aligns with the teachings of our Torah, a Torah of life, and by positively influencing one's environment in such matters. Especially since you are preparing to study an officers' course, which further increases your responsibility in all these areas.
It is clear and obvious that every single day you should have a set time for studying both the revealed part of Torah and Chassidus, in addition to the three well-known daily lessons in Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya.
May it be G‑d's will that you share good news regarding all of the above.

Summary
