In continuation to my letter from the 7th of Menachem Av—and in the meantime, letters from the 4th and 7th of Menachem Av have been received, as well as the photos, maps, and recordings. Thank you very much.

I have already written that the fundraising campaign for the printing school, like all campaigns, must utilize the opportune moment as much as necessary. It is understood that as time passes from the event and laying of the cornerstone, enthusiasm wanes and it becomes harder to rekindle it. Regarding what you wrote about sending letters on this matter—this is a universal phenomenon; here too sending letters serves only as plowing and preparation for a later visit. One cannot rely on this alone.

It is also understood that announcing now a cornerstone laying for a new building in Kfar Chabad for the Lod Yeshiva would clearly harm the fundraising for the printing school (in addition to reducing income even for the new building since it comes so close in time to the printing school campaign). Instead of considering launching a new campaign, one should focus on utilizing every possibility within the current printing school campaign.

Regarding your letter from 15 Sivan, section eight—it is clear that it does not matter who is officially borrowing; what matters is who will use the loan money—for they are responsible for expenses related to this.

For section nine there, you correctly understood my opinion regarding directing the printing school. If only I merited that actual activities would begin! If only no delay would cause an irreparable loss, G‑d forbid.

Regarding paragraph seven Sivan attached above: There is a decision about Ashkenazi students. I am interested to know about results in this or at least a detailed description of steps taken to achieve this goal. I am concerned—since there is no mention of this in every letter—that perhaps this decision remains only in writing and, as is commonly said now, has been pushed aside.

I will also raise another point (which is essential since it tests how much interest the mashgichim and roshei yeshiva have in yeshiva matters): What do students do during all hours of Shabbat? Who supervises them?

Regarding your questions from time to time about appointing so-and-so to certain positions: It is understood that management should decide immediately according to candidates' abilities after testing or according to their success if they have already served elsewhere in similar roles. But it is clear: A) One must be careful about outsiders in spirit and for several reasons. B) Devotion and commitment to Chabad matters are more likely among those connected with Chabad—and such dedication is essential, especially in Chabad institutions. C) Those who have become close to Chabad (became Chabadniks rather than born into it) and have formed a bond should be drawn even closer—especially since our sages say that in some areas they are even more meticulous than those born into it—as seen clearly; this also answers your questions regarding Mr... and his family—may they live. From this it follows that arrangements should be made so these individuals are satisfied (and certainly there are several ways to arrange this without harming other matters).

The Rebbe teaches that successful fundraising requires timely action and focus without distraction from new projects. Leadership decisions should prioritize devotion to Chabad values while supporting both born and newly affiliated members with care and inclusion.
