במענה על מכתבו מפסח שני, בו כותב אשר קבעו מגורם בדירה חדשה, ומעצם הדירה הנם שבעי רצון, אבל שכני המקום בלי מים זו תורה וכו'.
לדעתי צריך להיות שבע רצון גם מענין השני ואפשר יותר מענין הראשון, וכמובן ממרז"ל שלאחרי שהפליגו בגודל הענין דהמלמד את בנו תורה את בן בנו ואת בן חבירו תורה, מסיימים בגודל ההפלאה דלהוציא יקר מזולל המלמד את בן עם הארץ תורה (עיין קדושין ל, ע"א, ב"מ פה, א), והרי זה כל האדם שנברא לשמש את קונו ע"י שיעשה לו ית' דירה בתחתונים, ודירת האדם אינה אלא דרך והכשר לעבודה זו, מכיון שכל מי שאין לו בית דירה אינו אדם (עיין לקו"ת ברכה צט, ב. יבמות סג, א ובתוס' וחדא"ג שם), ודירה טובה וגם יפה מרחיבה דעתו של אדם ובמילא מצליח יותר בפעולותיו לעשות הדירה להקב"ה.

In response to your letter from Pesach Sheini, in which you write that you have settled into a new apartment and are satisfied with the apartment itself, but that the local neighbors lack water and Torah, etc.
In my opinion, one should be satisfied also with the second matter—perhaps even more than the first. As is understood from our Sages of blessed memory: after they extol the greatness of teaching one's son Torah, one's grandson Torah, and one's friend's son Torah, they conclude with an even greater wonder—the one who brings forth precious from worthless: teaching Torah to the son of an am ha'aretz (see Kiddushin 30a; Bava Metzia 85a). This is the purpose of every person: to serve his Creator by making for Him, may He be blessed, a dwelling in the lower realms. A person's dwelling is only a means and preparation for this service, since anyone who does not have a home is not considered a person (see Likkutei Torah Berachah 99b; Yevamot 63a and Tosafot and Chiddushei Aggadot there). A good and beautiful dwelling broadens one's mind and thereby enables greater success in making one's home a dwelling place for the Holy One Blessed be He.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that true satisfaction with one's home comes from recognizing its role as a vessel for serving G‑d. Even challenges in one's environment are opportunities to fulfill our purpose by spreading Torah and making our homes places where G‑dliness dwells.
