עס האט מיר געפרייט צו באקומען די ידיעה וועגן דער יערלעכער דינער-אונטערנעמונג וואס דארף פארקומען אי"ה דינסטאג, ראש-חודש ניסן, דער חודש פון דעם יום-טוב פון אונזער באפרייאונג - זמן חירותנו, וואס איז אזוי ענג פארבונדן מיט זמן מתן תורתנו.
יעדע פאסירונג איז דאך בהשגחה פרטית, בפרט א תורה-אונטערנעמונג פאר אזא וויכטיקן מוסד ווי די ליובאוויטשער ישיבה אין מאנטרעאל. האף איך, אז די שעה וועט צוגעבן א ספעציעלע באדייטונג צו דער אונטערנעמונג, וואס איז שוין פאר זיך אליין אויך אזוי העכסט וויכטיק.
אין אונזערע צייטן, ווען תורה-אידישקייט בכלל געפינט זיך איינגעצוימט פון פארשידענע "מצרים און גבולים" (באשרענקונגען און באגרענצונגען) - גלייכגילטיקייט און אומוויסנהייט פון איין זייט, פאלשע אידייען און מיינונגען פון דער צווייטער - שאפט די ישיבה תומכי-תמימים ליובאוויטש ניט נאר א "גושן" אין מצרים, נאר זי איז אויך א זיכערע צוגרייטונג צו דער באפרייאונג פון דעם גייסטיקן "גלות מצרים" פון אונזער צייט.
די ליובאוויטשער ישיבה, מיט איר ספעציפישן כאראקטער פון איינפלאנצן און דורכדרינגען די תלמידים מיט דעם גייסט פון מסירות-נפש פאר תורה און אידישקייט און מיט א טיפער פאראנטווארטלעכקייט פאר דער סביבה ארום, סיי ווען זיי זיינען נאך אין דער ישיבה און ספעציעל ווען זיי גייען ארויס אין לעבן - איז א ג-טלעכע ברכה פאר א שטאט.
איך האף, אז מאנטרעאלער אידן בכלל, און די עסקנים און אונטערשטיצער פון דער ישיבה בפרט, וועלן ריכטיק אפשאצן זייער גרויסע פליכט און אויסערגעוויינלעכן זכות צו האבן א חלק אין דער ישיבה תומכי-תמימים ליובאוויטש, און וועלן פיל-פאך פארגרעסערן זייערע באמיאונגען און שטיצע, צו געבן דער ישיבה - זייער ישיבה - די מעגלעכקייט ניט נאר אנצוהאלטן יאר עקזיסטענץ, נאר אויך וואקסן און אנטוויקלען זיך, ווי יעדע לעבעדיקע זאך, און ווי חז"ל האבן פארארדנט: מעלין בקודש.
זאל יעדער איינער טאן אין דעם מיט דער פאסנדער איבערגעבענהייט און ענערגיע, וועט די אונטערנעמונג זיכער זיין מיט הצלחה, און וועט ברענגען ברכה והצלחה יעדן איינעם ובני-ביתו שיחיו אין וואס זיי נויטיקן זיך בגשמיות וברוחניות.

Shalom u'Vrachah!
It gave me pleasure to receive the news about the annual dinner campaign that is to take place, G‑d willing, on Tuesday, Rosh Chodesh Nisan—the month of our festival of liberation, Zman Cheiruseinu (the time of our freedom), which is so closely connected with Zman Matan Toraseinu (the time of the giving of our Torah). Every occurrence happens by Divine Providence—especially a Torah undertaking for such an important institution as the Lubavitcher Yeshivah in Montreal. I hope that this timing will add special significance to the event, which is already so important in its own right.
In our times, when Torah and Judaism in general are confined by various "Mitzrayim and Gevulim" (limitations and boundaries)—indifference and ignorance on one side, false ideas and opinions on the other—the Yeshivah Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch not only creates a "Goshen" within Egypt but also serves as a sure preparation for redemption from the spiritual "Egyptian exile" of our days.
The Lubavitcher Yeshivah—with its specific character of instilling and permeating its students with a spirit of mesirus nefesh (self-sacrifice) for Torah and Judaism, along with a deep sense of responsibility for their surroundings both while still in Yeshivah and especially when they go out into life—is a G‑dly blessing for a city.
I hope that Montreal Jews in general—and especially the activists and supporters of the Yeshivah—will properly appreciate their great duty and extraordinary merit to have a share in Yeshivah Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch. They should greatly increase their efforts and support to give the Yeshivah—their Yeshivah—the ability not only to maintain its existence year after year but also to grow and develop like every living thing, as our Sages have ordained: Ma'alin b'Kodesh (we ascend in holiness).
If each person acts with proper devotion and energy, this undertaking will surely be successful and will bring blessing and success to everyone and their families—in all they need materially and spiritually.
