הנה בודאי ידוע לו מרז"ל (ב"ב יב, ב) כל המטיבין לו שזהו לאורך ימים ובפרט בהנוגע להנ"ל יעוין בדרך מצותיך (קי"ד, ע"ב) לשון רבנו הזקן בזה, ובהערות וציונים לשם שנדפסו בסופו, ויה"ר שיקוימו בהם במילואם ברכות נשיאנו האמורות.

In response to your letter from Shushan Purim, in which you write about the incident where a fire broke out, etc.
Surely you are aware of what our Sages of blessed memory said (Bava Basra 12b): "All those to whom good is done, this is for long life," especially regarding the above matter. See Derech Mitzvosecha (page 114b) for the wording of our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe on this subject, and also in the notes and references printed at the end there. May it be His will that all the blessings of our Nasi mentioned there be fulfilled for you in their entirety.
