במענה על מכתבו מטו"ב טבת, בו כותב אשר רצונו להתדבק בתורת ודרך חב"ד ולהיות מהמקושרים.
וכבר מלתו אמורה בכמה מאגרות הקדש והועתק גם בלוח היום יום - כ"ד סיון - ההתקשרות האמיתית היא ע"י לימוד התורה, כשהוא לומד המאמרי חסידות, קורא את השיחות ומתחבר עם ידידי אנ"ש ותלמידי התמימים יחיו בלימודם והתוועדות, ומקיים בקשתי באמירת תהלים ובשמירת זמני הלימודים, הנה בזה היא ההתקשרות.
והנ"ל היא הוראה כללית השוה לכל נפש, ומובן שגם בזה כמו בשאר עניני התורה ומצות ישנם ענינים מיוחדים לכאו"א לפי ענינו ובהנוגע אליו, הפעולה במושפעיו בכלל ובתומכי תמימים בלוד בפרט, כיון שזהו השער שלו דרך בו עולים ויורדים התורה ומצוה וההמשכות - שבזה, צריך להיות זהיר טפי וכמובן גם מאגה"ק סוף סי' ז', ודברים היוצאים מן הלב נכנסים אל הלב.

In response to your letter from the 15th of Teves, in which you write about your desire to connect with the teachings and path of Chabad and to be among those who are attached.
It has already been stated in several Igros Kodesh letters and is also quoted in Hayom Yom (24 Sivan): true hiskashrus (connection) is through Torah study—when one learns the maamarim of Chassidus, reads the sichos, and connects with friends among Anash and Talmidei HaTemimim through their study and farbrengens; by fulfilling my request to recite Tehillim and keep set times for learning—this is how one achieves connection.
The above is a general directive that applies equally to everyone. Of course, just as with other matters of Torah and mitzvos, there are also specific aspects for each individual according to their situation—especially regarding one's influence on others in general and on Tomchei Temimim in Lod in particular, since this is your gateway through which Torah, mitzvah observance, and spiritual flow ascend and descend. In this area you must be especially careful, as is also clear from Igros Kodesh at the end of section 7: "Words that come from the heart enter the heart."
As you requested, you will be mentioned at the holy resting place (the tziyun) of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal.

Summary
