לאחרי שתיקתו הכי ארוכה, נתקבל מכתבו מי"ד טבת, מבשר טוב מההתועדות ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו, ובודאי הנה לא רק שנשאר רושם על האנשים ככתבו במכתבו אלא שהרושם יבוא בפועל בענינים של תורה ומצות בכלל, ובענינים של תורת החסידות בפרט בכל ימות השנה, שהרי בדיוק נקרא ראש השנה לתורת החסידות ודרכי החסידות, וכמו הראש שכולל בתוכו ונמשך ממנו חיות לכל אברי הגוף, ובודאי בהתבוננות הדרושה ימצא כת"ר אופנים המתאימים איך להביא את זה בפועל, והשי"ת יצליחם, אשר ההתעסקות בכל האמור תעמוד לו ולזוגתו הרבנית שתליט"א להטבת הבריאות ולטוב בכל והצלחה בעסקנותו בתור מרא דאתרא, ובודאי יוסיפו אומץ בהתעסקות בכלל ובהנוגע לחינוך הילדים ביחוד, ובלי ספק בהשתדלות המתאימה בהנוגע לבית הספר אודותיו כתבתי...
הנה סו"ס יצליחו, ובפרט שהרי ידוע פסק בי"ד של מעלה אשר בגלל המסירות נפש הלזו (של רבנו הזקן בעל השמחה) על תורת החסידות, פסקו בבי"ד של מעלה, אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה.
הפ"נ המוסגרים במכתבו, יקראו בעת רצון על הציון הק' של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע.

After your longest silence, your letter from the 14th of Teves was received, bringing good news about the farbrengen on the bright day of Yud Tes Kislev, the festival which redeemed our soul in peace and gave us light and vitality. Certainly, not only did it leave an impression on people as you wrote in your letter, but this impression will be actualized in matters of Torah and mitzvos in general, and especially in matters of Chassidus throughout the entire year. After all, it is precisely called the Rosh Hashanah for Chassidus and its ways—just as the head contains within it and extends life to all parts of the body. Surely with proper contemplation you will find suitable ways to bring this into action, and may Hashem grant you success. Involvement in all these matters will stand for you and your wife (may she live long) for improved health and good fortune in everything, as well as success in your communal work as mara d’asra (community rabbi). Certainly this will also strengthen your efforts overall and especially regarding the education of children. Without a doubt, with appropriate effort concerning the school I wrote about... you will ultimately succeed—especially since it is known that the heavenly court ruled that because of this self-sacrifice (of our Rebbe, the Baal HaSimcha) for Chassidus, they decreed above that in every matter of Torah, fear of Heaven, and good character traits—the hand of his followers and those who walk in his path will prevail.
The panim (requests) enclosed in your letter will be read at an auspicious time at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal.
