לאחרי ההפסק במכתביו, נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מז"ך כסלו, בו כותב אודות ההתועדות דיום הבהיר י"ט כסלו, החג אשר פדה בשלום נפשנו ואור וחיות נפשנו ניתן לנו, וכיון שנקרא ר"ה ללימוד החסידות ולדרכי החסידות, וידוע הדיוק בלשון ראש ולא תחלה, כי ממנו צ"ל נמשך חיות לכל שאר ימות השנה, שבודאי ישתדלו גם בזה וע"ד המבואר שלאחרי הכתיבה וחתימה טובה בראש השנה ישנו גם הענין דנידון בכל יום - כדי להמשיך דבר יום ביומו, יעוין לקו"ת ס"פ קורח, בקונטרס ומעין וכו', ומובן שלא אליו בלבד הכוונה בהנ"ל, אלא לכאו"א מאנ"ש ולכולם ביחד, וכבר ידוע פס"ד בית דין שלמעלה: בגלל המסירות נפש (של רבינו הזקן) על תורת החסידות פסקו בבי"ד של מעלה אשר בכל ענין של תורה יראת שמים ומדות טובות תהי' יד מקושריו והולכי בעקבותיו על העליונה.

After a pause in your letters, I was pleased to receive your letter from the 27th of Kislev, in which you write about the farbrengen of the luminous day of Yud-Tes Kislev, the festival that redeemed our soul in peace and gave us light and vitality for our soul. Since it is called the Rosh Hashanah for learning Chassidus and for the ways of Chassidus—and it is known that there is a precision in using "Rosh" (head) and not "beginning," because from it must flow vitality for all other days of the year—certainly you will also strive in this regard. As explained regarding writing and sealing for good on Rosh Hashanah, there is also a concept of being judged every day—to draw down each day's matter on its day; see Likkutei Torah at the end of Parshas Korach, Kuntres U'Maayan, etc. And it is understood that this applies not only to you personally but to every member of Anash and to everyone together. It is already well known—the ruling of the Heavenly Court: because of the self-sacrifice (of our Rebbe, the Alter Rebbe) for Toras HaChassidus, it was decreed in Heaven that in every matter of Torah, fear of Heaven, and good character traits, his mekusharim (those connected to him) and those who follow his path will have the upper hand.
