Shalom u'Vrachah!
In response to your letter in which you write that you feel a decline in your spiritual state, etc. It is understood that first and foremost in such a situation one must increase diligence and perseverance in Torah study, especially in the study of the inner dimension of Torah which gives vitality and light to all matters of holiness for a person, and even a little light dispels much darkness.
One should also be careful not to exaggerate, G‑d forbid, the extent of the descent—as is also understood from the discourse "Mizmor Shir LeYom HaShabbat" by the Mitteler Rebbe, which was just published.
Afterwards, you should study with proper attention chapters 26–29 of Sefer Tanya Kadisha. It is also good if you become acquainted with the mashpi'im of Chassidus at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim and share with them this concern of yours; then will be fulfilled in you the saying of our Sages on the verse "Da'agah b'lev ish yesichena" (If there is anxiety in a man's heart, let him speak it out), etc.
Blessings for lively Torah study and increased Chassidus in its guidance and customs, and for good news.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that increasing Torah and Chasidus study brings spiritual vitality and dispels darkness. Sharing concerns with mentors helps uplift one's spirit. Even small steps toward light can overcome much negativity.
