במענה על מכתבה מכ"ג כסלו, בו כותבת אשר מסרו שו"ת מאביהם הרה"ג כו' וכו' ע"ה להדפסה בפרדס התמים[2], וכיון שהתשובה מחזקת כעשרים וארבעה דפים (אינו ברור אם כוונתה לעמוד או לדף בן שני עמודים) - יש מקום לספק אם יאבו העורכים להדפיס התשובה בקובץ אחד או שיחלקו אותה לשני קובצים, ומי יודע מתי יצא לאור הקובץ שלאחר זה.
הנה מובן שאין בידי לענות לה ברורות בהנ"ל, כיון שעדיין אינו ברור גודל הקובץ בכלל, שהרי אם יהי' קטן מהמשוער בטח גם לדעתה אין מקום להקציב למדור אחד מספר דפים כ"כ, כיון שצריכים להכניס עוד כמה מדורים, ולאידך גיסא אם יהי' גדול יותר מהמשוער בודאי גם המערכת מצד עצמה לא תרצה לחלק התשובה לשנים, כמובן.
ולדידי צריך עיון בכלל, שהרי אפשר טוב יותר מכמה טעמים שתהי' התשובה בשני קובצים, שאז תקרא על ידי מספר גדול יותר ובזמן יותר ממושך, כי בטבע בני אדם כשמופיע לאור קובץ ומכ"ע מניחים הקובץ שלפניו בפנה גנוזה, אבל כיון שבקשתה וגם בשם אחי' שי' שיכנס דוקא לקובץ אחד, אשתדל בזה, אם לא במקרה הנ"ל שיהי' מספר הדפסים של הקובץ קטן מהמשוער ומטעמים האמורים.
כיון שאינה מזכירה דבר אודות שלום כל המשפחה, בטח זהו סימן שהכל בסדר.

In response to your letter from the 23rd of Kislev, in which you write that you submitted responsa from your father, Harav Hagaon etc. of blessed memory, for publication in Pardes HaTamim, and since the responsum is about twenty-four pages (it is unclear whether you mean sheets or double-sided pages) — there is room to doubt whether the editors will agree to print the entire responsum in one issue or will split it into two issues, and who knows when the next issue will be published after this one.
It is clear that I cannot answer you definitively on this matter, since it is still unclear how large the issue will be overall; for if it turns out to be smaller than expected, surely even in your opinion there is no reason to allocate so many pages to one section, as other sections must also be included. On the other hand, if it turns out larger than expected, certainly the editorial board itself would not want to split the responsum into two parts, as is obvious.
In my opinion this requires consideration altogether; for perhaps it would actually be better for several reasons for the responsum to appear in two issues — then it would be read by more people and over a longer period of time. For human nature is such that when a new issue or periodical appears, people put aside the previous one. However, since you requested — also on behalf of your brother may he live — that it appear specifically in one issue, I will do my best regarding this unless the number of printed copies turns out smaller than expected and for the reasons mentioned above.
Since you did not mention anything about the wellbeing of your whole family, I am sure this means everything is fine.
