B"H, Erev Rosh Chodesh Menachem Av, 5716. Brooklyn.
Havavac"h iy"a nu"n oseik b'tzt"z Yochanan Gordon shochet u'bodek, Gabai of the Beit Knesset Lubavitch in Lubavitch Brooklyn, NY.
Shalom u'Vrachah!
At the end of the month of Tishrei—which is the general month for the entire year and is filled with all good to be drawn into the whole year—I hereby repeat my blessings that for many more years you should serve as Gabai in the Lubavitch shul in Brooklyn in a chassidic spirit. This should also be realized through effort—with success—to increase both the quantity of those who pray and to elevate their quality by establishing regular classes in the synagogue, both in Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus, as is customary in Jewish synagogues and especially in Chabad synagogues.
Certainly it is possible to arrange these classes so they do not interfere with yeshiva schedules. It is already well known how our Sages extolled the virtue of uniting synagogue and study hall together (Berachos 8a), and the merit of the community depends on it.
With blessings for success in all of the above, with proper health and chassidic nachas together with your wife—may she live—and from all your children—may they live.
Summary
The Rebbe urges strengthening both participation and spiritual growth at 770 by organizing regular Torah and Chassidus classes without disrupting yeshiva routines, emphasizing that communal merit comes from uniting prayer and study.
