Regarding your comment about what is written in the Akeidah (Shaar Parshas Bereshis at its beginning): that one should not attribute to the Divine ability... to unite opposites. Yet we say "Kol Yachol" (He can do anything), so you are entirely correct. The Jewish philosophers who follow the opinion of the Baal HaAkeidah explain that "Kol" means everything that is possible according to reason, as summarized in Mekor Chaim on the spot. – But it is clear how forced this explanation is. However, the great early authorities, Kabbalists, and Chassidus have long ruled that Hashem's ability is unlimited – "Kol Yachol" in its literal sense. – See Shut HaRashba I:548; Sefer HaChakira by tzt"z p. 68 s.v. "VeTaher Libeinu Azratenu," and others. A conclusive proof is brought from our Sages (Yoma 21a): "The space of the Aron was not measured," even though it had to be exactly as Hashem commanded: two and a half cubits its length and one and a half cubits its width and height.
