במענה על מכתבו מי"א כסלו. הנה ידוע שקבלת התורה בכללותה היתה באמירת נעשה ונשמע וביארו רז"ל שזהו דוקא על ידי הקדמת נעשה לנשמע (שפירושו הבנה והשגה ומלשון דבר כי שומע עבדך), היינו הענין דקבלת עול. ודבר זה צריך להיות נשנה בכל יום ויום וכפסק המשנה (ברכות ריש פרק ב') בנוגע למצות קריאת שמע שמחויב בה פעמיים בכל יום וענינה קבלת עול מלכות שמים וקבלת עול מצות.
וה"ה בנוגע אליו ולחבריו אשר בני ישראל הכשרים בודאי רצונם להצליח בלימוד תורתנו הק' ואין לזה דרך אחרת כי אם בהקדמת קבלת עול, היינו לשמוע להנהלת המוסד הק' בו לומדים לאחרי שיציעו לפניהם הטעמים והנימוקים שלהם, אבל אז עליהם להשמע להחלטתם וזוהי הדרך להצלחה, ובודאי ימסור כל זה גם לחבריו, ויה"ר שיהי' שליח טוב לבשרני טובות בכל זה.

In response to your letter from the 11th of Kislev.
It is well known that the acceptance of the Torah as a whole was through the declaration "Na'aseh v'Nishma" (We will do and we will hear), and our Sages explained that this was specifically by placing "Na'aseh" before "Nishma" (which means understanding and comprehension, as in "for Your servant hears"). This is the concept of kabbalas ol (accepting the yoke).
This matter must be renewed every single day, as ruled in the Mishnah (Berachos, beginning of chapter 2) regarding the mitzvah of reciting Shema, which one is obligated to do twice daily. Its purpose is accepting upon oneself the yoke of Heaven and mitzvos.
The same applies to you and your friends: surely, as upright Jews, you desire to succeed in learning our holy Torah. There is no other way except by first accepting kabbalas ol—that is, listening to the administration of your holy institution after they present their reasons and explanations. But then you must follow their decision. This is the path to success.
Surely you will convey all this to your friends as well. May it be G‑d's will that you be a good messenger to bring me good news about all this.
