לאחרי שתיקתו הארוכה נעם לי לקבל מכתבו מכ"ב מ"ח בבשורה הטובה, אשר נתוספו ספסלי בישיבת נשיאינו הק' זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע תורת אמת. והעיקר אשר נתוסף גם בכמות גם באיכות לימוד הנגלה ולימוד החסידות. ובודאי ע"פ מרז"ל לא המדרש עיקר אלא המעשה, ניכרת תוספת זו הן בעבודת התפלה וקיום המצות בהידור והן בהלימוד גופא בפרט.
ויה"ר שילכו מחיל אל חיל, וידוע דרז"ל בזה. וכיון שרבנו הזקן (שו"ע או"ח ריש סי' קנ"ה) מציין לעיין בתרגום תהלים שם, י"ל בכוונתו לרמז ג"כ שהתורה צריכה ביהכ"נ לפני' וביהכ"נ לאחרי' וכמו שמסיים שם בתרגום יתחמי לעות אוריתא דילהון קדם ד' דשכינתיה שריא בציון.
ת"ח על טרחתו במלוי בקשתי לשלוח לכאן ירחוני תורה, אהל תורה, ותורת ארץ ישראל, וכן הגליונות שמדפיס בהערות על ספר קצות החשן. ובודאי גם על להבא ינהג כן בחיפוש ושילוח עניני דפוס מסוג ועל דרך הנ"ל ות"ח ת"ח מראש.
ואסיים בדבר טוב במענה על בשורתו אשר נולד בן למזל טוב לבתו מרת צירה ביילה תחי' ונקרא שמו בישראל חיים שי'. הנה יה"ר מהשי"ת שכשם שהכניסוהו הוריו שיחיו לבריתו של אברהם אבינו כן יכניסוהו לתורה ולחופה ולמעשים טובים וכת"ר ירווה מכל יו"ח שיחיו רוב נחת חסידותי אמיתי.

After your long silence, it was pleasant for me to receive your letter from the 22nd of Marcheshvan with the good news that additional benches have been added in our holy Nesi'im's yeshiva Toras Emes. Most importantly, there has also been an increase both in quantity and quality in the study of Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus. Certainly, as our Sages say: "Not study is the main thing but action," this increase is evident both in prayer service and meticulous mitzvah observance as well as in study itself.
May it be G‑d's will that you go from strength to strength; this is well known from our Sages. Since the Alter Rebbe (Shulchan Aruch Orach Chaim beginning of Siman 155) points to examine the Targum on Tehillim there, it can be said he hints that Torah needs a synagogue before it and after it—as it concludes there in Targum: "They will see their Torah before Hashem whose Shechinah dwells in Zion."
Thank you for your effort fulfilling my request to send here the monthly journals Torah, Ohel Torah, and Toras Eretz Yisrael, as well as the issues you print with notes on Ketzos HaChoshen. Certainly you will continue doing so in searching out and sending printed matters of this kind as above—many thanks in advance.
I will conclude with something good in response to your news that a son was born—mazal tov—to your daughter Mrs. Tzira Beila; he was named Chaim. May it be G‑d's will that just as his parents brought him into Avraham Avinu's covenant so may they bring him to Torah, marriage canopy, and good deeds; may you derive much true chassidic nachas from all your offspring.
