בשאלתו אודות מקום שכירות הדירה, הנה מובן שיש להשתדל שהדירה תהי' בסמיכות למקום עבודתו שזהו לא רק מיעוט הטרחה בהליכה ממקום למקום אלא שכשדרים בין המושפעים הרי זה מוסיף חיזוק בההשפעה כמובן.
קראתי בסיום מכתבו אודות לימודו בתורת החסידות וכנראה מסגנון כתבו עד"ז שלימוד הזה אינו אצלו בקביעות בנפש וכנראה שיש בזה יותר מהענין דלצאת ידי חובתו לפני אחרים מאשר התענינות בלימוד גופא, ואף כי ע"פ מרז"ל לעולם ילמוד אדם תורה בכל זה לזה היודע החילוקים - דכמה האופנים שבלימוד לשמה, ללימוד סתם וללימוד כמה האופנים דשלא לשמה, בטח שיש לו להשתדל ולהתאמץ ביותר שיהי' אופן לימודו בדרגא היותר נעלית האפשרית לו במעמדו ההוה, ואם בלימוד הנגלה כך הוא אף שקשור הוא ביותר בענינים הגשמים הרי עאכו"כ שכן הוא בלימוד החסידות שזהו קשור יותר בחיים הרוחניים ומהלך הנפש, והשי"ת יצליחו בכל הנ"ל מתוך קביעות עתים בתורת הנגלה ובתורת החסידות אליבא דנפשי'.

This is not only to minimize the effort of traveling from place to place but also because when you live among those whom you influence, it naturally strengthens your impact, as is obvious.
I read at the end of your letter about your study of Chassidus. From the style of your writing on this matter, it appears that this study is not yet firmly established within you; it seems there is more a sense of fulfilling an obligation before others than genuine interest in the study itself. Although our Sages say that one should always study Torah—even if not purely for its own sake—still, for someone who knows the differences between various modes of learning (learning for its own sake, learning in general, and learning not for its own sake), he must strive and exert himself even more so that his study reaches the highest possible level given his current situation. If this applies to studying Nigleh (the revealed part of Torah), which is closely tied to material matters, then how much more so does it apply to studying Chassidus, which is more connected to spiritual life and the development of one's soul. May Hashem grant you success in all the above through establishing fixed times for both Nigleh and Chassidus studies in a way that truly speaks to your soul.
