I was pleased to receive your regards through your mother and sisters, may they live, after the long break during which I did not receive any letters from you. I also received word that you recited the hadran at the siyum haShas on the bright day of our redemption and the redemption of our soul, which is the past Yud Tes Kislev. Surely you also included some ideas from the teachings of Chassidus, for after all, "this is the whole person: to fear Hashem Elokecha" (to have awe of G‑d), and true awe is attained through matters explained in Chassidus; therefore, at every opportunity one should seek ways to advance this.

I hereby acknowledge receipt of your gift—the sefer Shut Maharik—and I am interested to know if it is possible to see a list of his other works. Of course, my intention is not for another gift but perhaps among them are some that would be useful here if I could borrow them for a time and then return them.

Enclosed is a copy of a general letter that was published in connection with the bright day of redemption, Yud Tes Kislev; its content is relevant all year round. Surely you will publicize it appropriately.
