בנועם קבלתי מכתבו, בו מודיע אשר בנו שי' כבר שב לאיתנו ושוקד בלימודו, ויה"ר מהשי"ת אשר במהרה יודיע ג"כ בשו"ט מהטבת מצב בריאות זוגתו תחי', ובימים האלו אשר סיבתם היא אקמצא ובר קמצא כו' הנה העבודה היא בקצה השני (וע"ד מ"ש הרמב"ם בהלכות דיעות פ"ב - ועוד יותר) היינו אהבת ישראל אהבת חנם, ומדובר מקצת מזה בשיחת ש"ק מברכין סיון אשר בטח ראה אותה, והשי"ת יהפוך ימים אלו לששון ולשמחה ולבשו"ט בגשמיות וברוחניות.

I was pleased to receive your letter, in which you inform me that your son has already returned to his strength and is diligent in his studies. May it be the will of Hashem that you will soon also report good news regarding the improvement of your wife's health.
And in these days, whose cause was Kamtza and Bar Kamtza (i.e., baseless hatred), the service is at the opposite extreme (as explained by the Rambam in Hilchos Deos chapter 2—and even more so): namely, Ahavas Yisrael, unconditional love for a fellow Jew. This was discussed somewhat in the Shabbos Mevorchim Sivan sichah, which you have surely seen. May Hashem transform these days into joy and gladness and for good news both materially and spiritually.
