Shalom u'Vrachah!
I requested from your son, vavac"h iy"a etc., the Tamim Meho[r] David, that he record his memories regarding my father and teacher of blessed memory. During our conversation, he told me that in his estimation, you remember and know much more about these matters. Therefore, I am hereby requesting that at your convenience you write down the above in as much detail as possible, as the more there is, the better. Please send it to me; I thank you in advance for this.
I have also long known that you succeeded in bringing from your country long ago the shofar of my father of blessed memory. Since vavac"h etc. Mohar"r DovBer Chaskind is traveling here at the beginning of the upcoming Elul (may it be successful), I would be very grateful if you could send the shofar with him. Of course, all expenses involved in any of the above will be reimbursed by me according to your instructions, in addition to my great thanks for all this.
On this occasion, I wish to express here my feelings of satisfaction and pleasure regarding the conduct of your son Meho[r] David. May it be G‑d's will that the blessings of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m—which he has given and continues to give even now—be fulfilled for him and for your other children.
With blessing and thanks in advance as above,
Rabbi Menachem Schneerson
