אאשר בתודה קבלת מכתבם מיום י"א מנחם אב, כי שלחו אלי אתרוג מהודר בלתי מורכב.
ידוע פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ "בשעת מ'זאגט ואת כל מיני תבואתה לטובה האט מען מכוון געווען שמורה לפסח וד' מינים לסוכות" עכ"ל. ומובן כי אין זה סתירה לפירוש הברכה כפשוטה, המתייחסת לכל התבואות, שהרי התורה היא המקור והצינור לכל הבריאה וההשפעות שבעולם, וכמאמר אסתכל באורייתא וברא עלמא, וכך הוא בכל יום וכמ"ש המחדש בטובו בכל יום תמיד מעשה בראשית, ולכן אם כל עניני התורה ומצוות הם כדבעי אז גם כל הענינים הגשמיים בבריאה כדבעי. ויעויין הקדמת השל"ה בית אחרון דמסיק דשכר המצוות הוא טבעי.
ויהי רצון שנזכה כלנו לקיים מצות ד' מינים בשנה הבע"ל בהידור ובמהרה בימינו ממש נזכה לקיום היעוד ויעשו כלם אגודה אחת לעשות רצונך בלבב שלם.

B"H, 18 Menachem Av, may Hashem grant honor to the administration of Yeshivas Toras Emes in Jerusalem. Shalom u'Vrachah!
I gratefully acknowledge receipt of your letter from the 11th of Menachem Av, stating that you sent me a beautiful, un-grafted etrog.
It is well known the saying of my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m: "At the time one says 've'et kol minei tevuatah le'tovah' ('and all kinds of its produce for good'), one has in mind matzah for Pesach and the four species for Sukkot." End quote.
It is understood that this does not contradict the simple meaning of the blessing, which refers to all produce, since Torah is the source and channel for all creation and all influences in the world. As it is said: 'Istakel b'Orayta u'vara alma' ("He looked into the Torah and created the world"), and so it is every day as it says: 'HaMechadesh b'tuvo b'chol yom tamid ma'aseh Bereishis' ("Who renews in His goodness every day continually the work of creation"). Therefore, if all matters of Torah and mitzvot are as they should be, then all material matters in creation are also as they should be. See also the introduction to Shelah, last section, where he concludes that reward for mitzvot is natural.
May it be G‑d's will that we all merit to fulfill the mitzvah of the four species this coming year with beauty, and speedily in our days may we merit to fulfill the prophecy: 'And they shall all form one group to do Your will with a complete heart.'
