ולכן בהיותי על ציון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ הזכרתיו, ובבקשה אשר ימצא די כח בנפשו או שיותנו לו כוחות ע"ז שיוכל לעמוד במה שנדמה לו עתה לנסיון ובהקדם יראה בעליל שלא הי' ממש בנסיון זה וכמבואר בדא"ח בענין הנסיונות, באשר איני מכירו פא"פ, איני יודע באיזה אותיות טוב יותר לבאר השקפתי בענין זה כדי שתתקבל בטוב וגם שלא יחשדני במה שאיני מכוון, ואנסה בפשטות ובטח כל דפשיט מעלי טפי.
בכלל כל אדם ובכל רגע ובכל פעולה עומד הוא על פרשת דרכים (בדרכו הפרטית עכ"פ) אם לימין או לשמאל. ובפרט בזמן של הזדעזעות כללית באיש שעליו תפקיד כללי ובפעולה כללית.
הסתלקות פירושה עלי' ממצב אחד למצב יותר רוחני וגופא בתר רישא גריר כיון שמקושרים הם יחד. ומוכרח כל אחד ואחת מאתנו המקושרים לכ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ ראש אלפי ישראל להתעלות גם הוא והיא למעמד ומצב יותר רוחני ובמילא לעשיית פעולות כאלו, שע"ע אולי לא הי' שייך שיעשה אותן...

I thought that perhaps it seems to him that the trial is too great, for by fulfilling my suggestion and request, who knows what he might "lose" as a result. Therefore, when I was at the resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m, I mentioned him and requested that he find enough strength within himself or be granted the strength to withstand what now appears to him as a trial. Soon he will clearly see that there was truly nothing to this trial at all, as explained in Chassidus regarding the matter of trials.
Since I do not know him personally face-to-face, I do not know in which terms it would be best to explain my perspective on this matter so that it will be well received and also so that he will not suspect me of having ulterior motives. I will try to speak simply and surely whatever is straightforward for me will be best.
In general, every person at every moment and with every action stands at a crossroads (at least in his personal path), whether to the right or to the left. Especially in times of general upheaval for a person who has a communal role and acts on behalf of the community.
Histalkus (passing) means an ascent from one state to a more spiritual one, and "the body follows the head," since they are connected together. Therefore, each one of us who is connected to my father-in-law, the Rebbe hk"m—the head of Israel's thousands—must also elevate himself or herself to a higher spiritual state and consequently perform actions that perhaps until now were not possible for them to do...

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that challenges are often less daunting than they appear and urges us toward ongoing spiritual growth. By connecting ourselves with our leaders and striving higher, we can overcome perceived obstacles and fulfill new missions.
