מיר זיינען נאך ערשיטערט פון דער הסתלקות פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע הכ"מ, און עס איז דעריבער נאך שווער צו שרייבן. אבער נעמענדיק אין אכט דעם רבי'נס, הכ"מ, רצון און הוראה, וואס איז אייך אויך זיכער באקאנט, אז ווען עס האנדלט זיך וועגן טאן א אידן א טובה דארף מען זיך ניט רעכענען מיט קיין זאך, שרייב איך אייך די פאלגנדע שורות...
ווי געזאגט, איז מיר שווער מאריך צו זיין. נאר נאך דעם איינדרוק וואס איר האט אויף מיר געמאכט ווען מיר האבן זיך געטראפן פערזענליך, בין איך זיכער, אז עס איז ניט נויטק מאריך צו זיין. בפרט, אז עס האנדלט זיך וועגן אן ענין פון אהבת ישראל, וואס איז געווען איינער פון די הויפט-זיילן פון דער הנהגה פון כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר הכ"מ, און עס איז ידוע די גרויסקייט פון קורת רוח וואס מען פארשאפט דעם צדיק ווען מען גייט אין זיינע וועגן.

We are still shaken by the passing of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden, and it is therefore still difficult to write. But taking into account the Rebbe's (zatzal) will and instruction—which you surely also know—that when it comes to doing a favor for a fellow Jew one must not consider any obstacle, I am writing you these following lines...
As mentioned, it is difficult for me to elaborate. Yet after the impression you made on me when we met personally, I am certain that there is no need to elaborate. Especially since this concerns Ahavas Yisrael, which was one of the main pillars of my revered father-in-law's leadership (zatzal), and it is well known how much pleasure is brought to a tzaddik when one follows in his ways.
