In response to your message about the wedding of your granddaughter Mrs. Rivkah, may she live, I send you my blessings of mazal tov, mazal tov. May they build their home on the foundations of Torah and mitzvah as explained in Chassidus, and may their parents and grandparents see much nachas from them both materially and spiritually.

Regarding your questions: (a) As for whether there is an instruction from the tzt"z about wearing a watch on Shabbos—I have not heard anything about this. To my knowledge, nothing is mentioned in his printed works. Perhaps there is an oral tradition from him. (b) How can Shabbos bless the days preceding it? This relates to how the sanctity of Shabbos begins—in several aspects—from Erev Shabbos, and sometimes even before midday. Specifically regarding your question, see Mishnas Chassidim, tractate Yom Revi'i chapter 3 mishnah 2, and relevant places in Shaar HaKavanos in Pri Etz Chaim, etc. Also see in the Siddur Yaavetz regarding why Vayehi Noam is not recited when Yom Tov falls during that week—because the sanctity of Yom Tov protects what comes before it.
