המצווה הפ"ה
האזהרה שהזהרנו מלעשות מוגמר כמתכנת הקטרת.
כלומר: שיהיו אותן [סממני] תערובתו, וביחס אותן המידות, ויתכוון להתגמר בו.
והוא אמרו יתעלה: "(ו)במתכנתה לא תעשו לכם". (שמות לא, לז).
וביאר לנו, שהעובר ועושה כמוה וכוונתו להריח תימרתה - חייב כרת.
אמר: "איש אשר יעשה כמוה להריח בה ונכרת מעמיו" (שמות לא, לח) אם הוא מזיד.
ואם הוא שוגג - מקריב חטאת קבועה.
וכבר נתבארו גם דיני מצווה זו בריש כריתות.
The prohibition against making incense like the incense of the Ketores
1. The prohibition in which we were warned not to make incense like the formula of the Ketores. That is, that its ingredients and their proportions should be the same, and one intends to use it for personal enjoyment.
2. This is as He, may He be exalted, said: "You shall not make it for yourselves according to its formula" (Shemos 30:37).
3. And it was explained to us that one who transgresses and makes it like it, and his intention is to smell its fragrance, is liable to kareis.
4. As it says: "Anyone who makes it like it, to smell it, shall be cut off from his people" (Shemos 30:38), if he did so intentionally.
5. And if he did so unintentionally, he brings a fixed sin-offering.
