המצווה הק"י
הציווי שנצטווינו, שהטהרה מן הצרעת תהיה על ידי המעשה המפרש במקרא.
והוא: עץ ארז, ואזוב, ושני תולעת, ושתי צפרים, ומים חיים. ושיעשה בהם כל מה שנזכר.
ובמעשה הזה עצמו, יטהר האדם והבית, כמו שבאר הכתוב.
הנה נתבאר לך, שמיני הדברים המטהרים מן הטומאה לפי תורתנו, הם שלושה מינים: אחד כללי, ושנים המיוחדים לשני מינים ממיני הטמאות.
הכללי הוא הטהרה במים, שכל טמא לא תושג לו הטהרה אלא אחר שיטהר במים.
והמין השני - מי נדה. והוא דבר מיוחד לטומאת מת.
והמין השלישי - עץ ארז ואזוב ושני תולעת ושתי צפרים ומים חיים. והוא דבר מיוחד לצרעת.
וכבר נתבארנו כל דיני מצווה זו, כלומר: טהרת מצורע הראשונה - במסכת נגעים.
The 110th Mitzvah
The commandment with which we were commanded that purification from tzaraas must be performed through the procedure specified in Scripture.
This involves: a cedar branch, hyssop, scarlet wool, two birds, and spring water. All that is mentioned must be done with them.
Through this very procedure, a person or a house is purified, as the verse explains.
It is thus clear to you that, according to our Torah, there are three types of things that purify from impurity: one general type, and two that are specific to two types of impurity.
The general type is purification with water, for no impure person can attain purification except after immersing in water.
The second type is the water of the niddah, which is specific to impurity from a corpse.
The third type is the cedar branch, hyssop, scarlet wool, two birds, and spring water, which is specific to tzaraas.
All the laws of this mitzvah, that is, the initial purification of a metzora, have already been explained in Tractate Negaim.
