בְּלֵיל שִׂמְחַ"תֹּ (שִׂמְחַת תּוֹרָה) תָּרֵנֻ"טֶ אַחְרֵי הַהַקָפֹות הִכְרִיז אַאַמוּ"ר (אֲדוֹנִי אָבִי מוֹרִי וְרַבִּי): הַיְשִׁיבָה שְׁמָה "תֹּומְכֵי תְּמִימִים", וְתַּלְמִידִים הַלֹומְדִים וּמִתְנַהַגִים בְּרוּחָה שְׁמָם "תְּמִימִים".
15 Elul: The founding of the yeshiva "Tomchei Temimim." The day was Sunday, the 15th of Elul, 5657 (1897). The beginning of study in both Nigleh (revealed Torah) and Chassidus: Wednesday, the 18th of Elul, 5657 (1897).
On the night of Simchas Torah, 5659 (1898), after Hakafos, my father and teacher (Adoni Avi Mori v'Rabi) announced: The yeshiva's name is "Tomchei Temimim," and the students who learn and conduct themselves in its spirit are called "Temimim."
