B"H, Haftorah for Shacharis on Yom Kippur from Isaiah 57:14–58:14.

Isaiah proclaims: "Build up, build up the road! Remove obstacles from My people's path." For so says the High and Exalted One Who dwells forever and Whose Name is Holy: "I dwell in a high and holy place, but also with the contrite and humble in spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble and to revive the heart of the contrite."

"For I will not contend forever, nor will I always be angry; for the spirit would grow faint before Me—the souls that I have made. Because of his sinful greed I was angry and struck him; I hid My face in anger, yet he went on turning away in his heart's path. I have seen his ways, but I will heal him; I will guide him and restore comfort to him and his mourners. Creator of the speech of lips: Peace, peace to those far and near," says Hashem, "and I will heal him." But the wicked are like a troubled sea that cannot rest; its waters toss up mire and mud. There is no peace," says my G‑d, "for the wicked."

Call out with your throat—do not hold back! Raise your voice like a shofar! Tell My people their transgression and the house of Yaakov their sins. They seek Me daily and desire knowledge of My ways as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake their G‑d's justice. They ask Me for righteous judgments; they desire closeness to G‑d.

"Why have we fasted," they say, "and You do not see? We have afflicted our souls but You do not know?" Behold, on your fast day you pursue your own interests and oppress all your workers. Behold, you fast for strife and contention and to strike with a wicked fist; you do not fast today so as to make your voice heard on high.

Is this the fast I choose—a day for a person to afflict himself? Is it to bow one's head like a reed or spread sackcloth and ashes? Will you call this a fast—a day desirable to Hashem?

Is this not rather the fast I choose: To loosen bonds of wickedness, undo straps of yoke, let oppressed go free, break every yoke? Is it not to share your bread with the hungry, bring homeless poor into your house? When you see the naked—clothe him! Do not hide yourself from your own flesh.

Then your light will burst forth like dawn; your healing will quickly sprout. Your righteousness will go before you; Hashem's glory will gather you in. Then you will call—and Hashem will answer; you will cry out—and He will say: Here I am! If you remove oppression from among you—the pointing finger and evil speech—if you offer yourself to the hungry and satisfy the afflicted soul—then your light shall shine in darkness; your gloom shall be like midday.

Hashem will always guide you; He will satisfy your soul in parched places and strengthen your bones. You shall be like a watered garden—like a spring whose waters never fail. Those from among you shall rebuild ancient ruins; you shall raise up foundations of many generations. You shall be called repairer of breaches—restorer of paths for dwelling.

If you restrain your foot because of Shabbos—from pursuing your affairs on My holy day—and call Shabbos a delight, Hashem's holy [day] honored—and honor it by not going about your own ways or seeking your own pleasure or speaking idle words—then you shall delight in Hashem. I will cause you to ride upon the heights of the earth—I will feed you with Yaakov your father's heritage—for Hashem has spoken."

Summary

This Haftorah teaches that true repentance is expressed through humility before G‑d (Hashem), sincere teshuvah (return), compassion toward others, social justice, honoring Shabbos properly, and transforming ritual into heartfelt action—bringing both personal healing and communal blessing.
