These are the Rebbe's letters to individuals about their own situations. Throughout, the Rebbe instructed people to consult an expert doctor and follow his guidance; anyone facing a medical question should do the same.
The Rebbe's guidance on lung conditions and asthma:
Consult a specialist in the field and ask specifically about newer treatments. In one case the Rebbe wrote that the proposed lung surgery did not seem appropriate to him at all, and advised checking the mezuzos in the home (IK 6282).
On asthma and climate: asked whether someone with asthma could manage in Brooklyn, the Rebbe noted that although this is not his field, from similar cases he had heard of, the local climate is a consideration (IK 9829).
