מכתבו נתקבל באיחור רב, בו כותב בנוגע . . . שי' שסובל מקצרת, ושואל אם יוכל להסתדר בברוקלין וכו', בפרט במקצוע שלו אלקטרוניקה.
אף על פי שזה לגמרי לא מקצוע שלי, אבל כמו ששמעתי מכמה מקרים דומים, הרי מזג האויר בברוקלין לא מתאים לאלו שסובלים מקצרת, ונוסעים לטעקסאס וכדומה. אגב, שם קשה מצד יהדות. ובנוגע להסתדרות במקצוע האלקטרוניקה, לדאבוני לא אוכל לייעץ בזה.
אבל עלי החובה להעיר, שעל פי התורה, תורת חיים, שהיא ההוראה בחיים ומקור חיים, הרי
היציאה
מארץ ישראל לא דבר פשוט הוא, אלא אם כן יש סיבות חשובות ביותר, ואם לאו לא כדאי, לא מצד רוחניות ולא מצד גשמיות. ואתו הסליחה.

Your letter was received after a significant delay, in which you write regarding ... who suffers from asthma, and you ask if he could manage in Brooklyn, especially in his field of electronics.
Although this is not my field at all, as I have heard from several similar cases, the climate in Brooklyn is not suitable for those who suffer from asthma, and they travel to Texas or similar places. However, there it is difficult from a Jewish perspective. Regarding managing in the field of electronics, unfortunately I cannot advise on this.
But I must point out that according to Torah, Toras Chaim—which is the guidance for life and the source of life—leaving Eretz Yisrael is not a simple matter unless there are extremely important reasons; otherwise it is not advisable, neither spiritually nor materially. Please forgive me.
