במענה למכתב כבוד הדר"ג,
דעתי
בהענינים מבוארת
בִדְבָרַי
בפורים
ובל"ג
בעומר, ומאז החששות וכו' נתבססו ביותר.
הניסוח הקיים דחוקים אלו מתפרש ע"י רבים, ובפרט הנוער, לאמיתתו – היינו: כביטול, ר"ל, ולא רק במציאות אלא גם באופן רשמי וחוקי דהבדלת ה' יתברך בתורתנו הקדושה בין ישראל לעמים,
והיא סכנה היל"ת
לעצם קיום אומתנו בתפוצות ובארץ.
כל בא-כח דתינו היושב עתה בממשלה מוסיף עוד לכל זה גושפנקא דתית – היפך דין תורת אמת! ואי אפשר לחזק הביטחון והמוראל דעם ישראל ע"י היפך האמת, ואדרבא.
ויהי רצון מאלקי הצבאות שהצבא המגין במסירת נפש ממש על ארצנו הקדושה ועמנו היושב בה
ינצח ובקרוב ובנצחון גמור ובלי קרבנות

ויבוא השלום בארץ
"ושכבתם
ואין מחריד".
והצבא דהעסקנים הדתיים שעליו לשמור על קדשי עמנו והרבנים בראשו יאמרו דעתם גלוי' וברורה בחוקים הנ"ל עם כל המסקנות מזה.
וסוף סוף גם אלה שאינם מכירים לעת עתה בסכנה האיומה שבהחוקים, יצטרפו אליהם ויתקנו הפרצה, כי

In response to your honored letter: My opinion on these matters is explained in my words on Purim and Lag BaOmer, and since then, the concerns have only increased. The current formulation of these laws is interpreted by many—especially the youth—as their true intent: namely, as an annulment, G‑d forbid—not only in practice but also officially and legally—of the separation that G‑d has made in our holy Torah between Israel and the nations. This poses a grave danger to the very existence of our nation both in the diaspora and in Eretz Yisrael.
Every representative of our religion who now sits in the government adds further religious endorsement to all this—the opposite of the law of Torah truth! It is impossible to strengthen the security and morale of the Jewish people through what is contrary to truth; on the contrary.
May it be G‑d's will—the G‑d of Hosts—that the army which defends with literal self-sacrifice our holy land and our people dwelling there will be victorious soon, with a complete victory and without casualties, G‑d forbid; and that peace will come to the land: "You shall lie down and none shall make you afraid."
The army of religious activists—whose task is to safeguard our people's sanctities, with rabbis at their head—should state their opinion openly and clearly regarding these laws and all their consequences. Ultimately, even those who do not yet recognize the terrible danger inherent in these laws will join them and repair this breach, for every single heart among Israel is awake for Hashem and His Torah of truth.
