Shalom u'Vrachah!
It is surprising and somewhat concerning that I have not received any news from you for quite some time. Of course, I do not suspect you of reciprocating my own lack of letters (due to my many preoccupations etc.) by withholding your own correspondence. The reason I do not suspect this is because I am sure you judge me favorably and understand that my lack of letters is due to the aforementioned reason—especially since this is indeed the truth.
When I requested through the telephone that several matters be clarified—including your well-being—I was immediately told that you participated in the celebration of Rashbi on his day of joy in Meron, and afterwards that you had also spoken with them etc. Thank G‑d for this good news.
May it be G‑d's will that you yourself bring good tidings, as has been discussed many times—in a manner of ever-increasing growth.
I believe I have already expressed my thanks and great satisfaction regarding your article that was published—aside from the distressing and alarming error where people refer to the bitter exile and doubled darkness as 'the beginning of redemption' etc., as has been discussed many times—especially when we see its consequences etc. The merit of the many supports anyone who protests against this.
Obviously there is no place for discouragement if the protest is not accepted as it should be, though I hope it still makes an impression; and who can know G‑d's counsel to determine its results? Clearly this does not exempt one from protesting again and again—especially considering what has been discussed and explained many times about the seriousness of this matter and its harm etc. There is no need to elaborate on such a distressing topic.
Knowing your interest, I am sure you have also read with appropriate attention what was published from the Purim farbrengen, and I hope that summaries will also reach you based on what was discussed on Lag BaOmer—the day of Rashbi's joy—who is renowned for his attitude toward 'the kindness of nations.' As our Sages related (Shabbat 33b), 'they established it for their own needs,' especially regarding nations in our generation etc.
Together with this he declared: 'I can exempt the entire world from judgment.' Certainly he did not intend to publicize his own importance or value (G‑d forbid), but rather to ease judgment—even to its nullification. He emphasized: 'the entire world,' including those mistaken about 'the kindness of nations' etc., and even those beneath them etc.
Blessings for success in all your matters, with proper health, joy, and gladness of heart.
M. Schneersohn
P.S. In continuation to the above, enclosed is a copy of my general letter for Lag BaOmer.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches us to maintain communication despite challenges, persistently protest spiritual errors even when results are unclear, and learn from Rashbi's humility and universal concern—striving always for growth and positive influence on others.
