Shalom u'Vrachah!

I acknowledge receipt of your letter from the eve of Chai Elul... Regarding the content of your letter: a) Your future area of activity in serving the community—based on the saying from my revered father-in-law, the previous Rebbe—'the teacher for the future': you have succeeded (especially so) in bringing matters and light of Judaism (and particularly Daas Chabad) to various circles, including those (who, as far as I know) only you have found access to—and you should continue this also in the future (especially during these days of awakening in Elul and Tishrei and similarly on holidays and festivals). Of course, with emphasis (as you concluded) that action is paramount.

b) And it is obvious (though to my great surprise it seems your opinion is otherwise—which is why I am writing this explicitly)—certainly you will not forgo your good custom and your greatest merit—blowing shofar at the conclusion of Yom Kippur at the Western Wall. Fortunate is your lot to have merited this, etc.

Summary

The Rebbe highlights both communal service and personal spiritual practices as vital. He urges continued outreach and stresses that maintaining unique mitzvah customs brings great merit and blessing.
