Shalom u'Vrachah!

I acknowledge receipt of your letter... As we stand on the day of the redemption of the Mitteler Rebbe and just a few days before the redemption day of the Alter Rebbe—which are also days of preparation for that day—and especially considering the well-known Yud Kislev sichah (of my father-in-law the Rebbe), both are our redemption and the liberation of our souls: a redemption specifically in peace. As is known from the explanation of the Alter Rebbe that when he recited in Tehillim "Padah v'Shalom Nafshi" (He redeemed my soul in peace) before beginning the next verse, he was released in peace from 'shalom.' May it be G‑d's will that in accordance with our Sages' teaching on this verse (which is from today's Tehillim portion—both monthly and weekly): The Holy One says: Whoever engages in Torah study and acts of kindness and prays with the community—I consider it as if he has redeemed Me and My children from among the nations. May you be strengthened and increase accordingly—together with all Israel—in these three lines: involvement in Torah study, acts of kindness (and mitzvos in general), and service through prayer—all illuminated by the light of their Torah—the Torah of Chassidus—with vitality and inwardness. And may this bring closer to fulfillment the promise—as our Sages interpret on this week's Chumash portion—"Vayizrach lo hashemesh" (the sun shone for him), which G‑d told Yaakov as a sign for his children: "Behold, a day is coming... And for you who fear My Name shall shine forth a sun of righteousness with healing in its wings," meaning: The day when G‑d redeems Himself and His children—the great and awesome day of our redemption through Moshiach Tzidkeinu very soon.
