נבהלתי בקבלי היום מכתבם שכאילו הסכמתי לקבל וכו' ותיכף התחייבו וכו'.
וימסרו כל הנגבה על זה למוסדות החבדיים שבאה"ק.
וכל הרוצים באמת לחזק את התקשרותם לרבותינו נשיאינו יתעסקו בהפצת המעיינות במרץ ובביסוס מוסדותיהם, ולא בכסף תגאלו.
המחכה לאישור קבלת המברק וחותם בברכה לעבודה פנימית ולקבלת התורה בשמחה ובפנימיות.

הסכמתי לקבל: מעות מעמד. כי בד"כ הי' אז הסדר שמעות מעמד בית הרב הי' הרבי מוסר לידי הרבנית הזקנה, והיא היתה מחלקת אותן לפי ראות עינה לבני משפחת בית הרב. ובאותה תקופה התוועד השד"ר ר' בן ציון שם-טוב בארה"ק, ועורר את אנ"ש לשלוח מעמד - באופן אישי אל הרבי. והי' רושם כאילו כל ההצעה הזאת היא בהסכמתו של הרבי.

I was alarmed upon receiving your letter today, as if I had agreed to accept, etc., and immediately you committed, etc. All the funds collected for this should be given to the Chabad institutions in Eretz Yisrael.
All those who truly wish to strengthen their connection to our Rebbeim, the Nesi'im, should engage energetically in spreading the wellsprings and in strengthening their institutions—not through money will you be redeemed.
I await confirmation of receipt of the telegram and sign with a blessing for inner work and for receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness.
