הנני לאשר בתודה קבלת מכתבו מיום ה' בחשון, בו כותב ע"ד חלוקי דעות בין המנהלים של שני בתי ספר בירושלים.
הברקתי להרב זוין שליט"א ובקשתיו אשר בהשתתפות ידידינו היודעים פרק בחינוך הנמצאים במקום ומכירים אישית את שני המנהלים וכו' יתווכו ביניהם ויסדרו הענין בכי טוב. ומובטחני אשר לא יאחרו לדון בדבר בשימת לב הראוי' וימצאו הפתרון הנכון לטובת התלמידים-ות (שהרי סו"ס הם העיקר), וגם לטובת ההנהלה וכולי, ועוד וגם זה עיקר באופן שתהי' הסכמה משני המנהלים, שהרי בשטח החינוך בפרט חשוב ביותר שכל העובדים בו יעבדו מתוך שביעת רצון והסכמה מלאה ולא בדרך הכרח, כיון שהתלמיד רגיש הוא ומגיב לא רק על דברים וענינים שבגלוי אלא גם על רגש הלב של המורה והמחנך, מצב רוחו, היחס שלו וכולי. ובודאי לדכוותי' דמר האריכות אין בה צורך.
נעם לי לראות במכתבו התענינות כ' בבתי ספר האמורים, ומזה דן אני גזרה שוה על דבר התענינותו גם בשאר בתי הספר. וכאן מקום אתי להביע לו תודה מיוחדת על הביאו לתשומת לבי הבעי' של שני בתי הספר האמורים במיוחד שמפרש אני את זה כיחס של אהדה וידידות נאמנה לחב"ד ועניני'. ועל פי הוראת חכמינו ז"ל להעלות בכל דבר טוב, אקוה אשר גם ביחס זה יתוסף עוד יותר, ותודה לבבית למפרע, נוסף על העיקר אשר שכר מצוה מצוה.
ומענין לענין באותו ענין, אף שאיני יודע אם נכנס זה בשטח פעולות מר, והוא בנוגע לביה"ס במנחת, אשר כתבו לי קס"ד וסברה לחסל בו את הכתות הגבוהות (על מנת להעבירן לאזבסטונים). ואף שכמובן שמעבר לים קשה להיות בקי בבעי' האמורה לכל פרטי', אבל הרי בודאי שהאוכלוסי' במנחת תגדל בעתיד הקרוב, ולכן אדרבה השעה דורשת להרחיב מסגרת החינוך שבהוה שתוכל לקלוט גם ילדי המתיישבים החדשים, והרי הוספת האוכלוסי' אינה מוגבלת לתחילת שנת הלמודים, וכל השנה זמנה הוא.
ארשה לעצמי לצרף בזה העתק מכתבי-כללי לראש השנה הזאת, שתקותי שיענין את מר. והשייכות להכתוב לעיל - אם תמצא לומר שצריכה להיות שייכות - גם היא פשוטה, והיא שעל פי תוכן המכתב האמור ביכולת מר לפעול בשני הענינים האמורים כאן הרבה יותר משמשער.

I hereby acknowledge with thanks receipt of your letter from Thursday, 5 Cheshvan, in which you write about disagreements between the directors of two schools in Jerusalem.
I have sent a telegram to Rabbi Zevin shlita and requested that, with the participation of our friends who are knowledgeable in education, present at the location and personally acquainted with both directors, etc., they should mediate between them and arrange the matter in the best way.
I am confident that they will not delay in addressing the matter with proper attention and will find the correct solution for the benefit of the students (who are ultimately the main focus), as well as for the administration, etc. Moreover—and this is essential—that there be agreement from both directors. In education especially, it is most important that all those working in it do so with satisfaction and full agreement, not out of compulsion, since a student is sensitive and reacts not only to things that are openly expressed but also to the feelings of heart of the teacher and educator—their mood, attitude, etc.
Certainly for your honor there is no need for further elaboration.
I was pleased to see your interest in your letter regarding these schools; from this I infer a similar interest regarding other schools as well.
This is an appropriate place to express special thanks for bringing to my attention the problem concerning these two schools—especially since I interpret this as an expression of genuine affection and loyal friendship toward Chabad and its matters.
And according to our Sages’ instruction to always increase in good matters, I hope that this attitude will grow even more; heartfelt thanks in advance—besides what is most important: "the reward for a mitzvah is [another] mitzvah."
On a related note—even though I do not know if this falls within your activities—it concerns the school in Menachat. I have been informed there is consideration and reasoning to close its upper grades (in order to transfer them to Azbestonim). Although obviously it is difficult from overseas to be fully familiar with all details of this issue, certainly the population in Menachat will increase soon; therefore now is precisely when it is necessary to expand educational frameworks so they can also absorb children of new settlers—the increase in population is not limited only to the start of the school year but can occur throughout.
I permit myself to enclose here a copy of my general letter for this Rosh Hashanah, which I hope will interest you. Its relevance to what was written above—if one may say there needs to be relevance—is also simple: based on its content you can influence both matters mentioned here much more than you might estimate.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that unity among educators directly impacts students’ well-being. Mediation and cooperation are essential for effective education; personal involvement and care for all schools reflect true dedication to Chabad’s mission.
