Shalom u'Vrachah!
I was pleased to receive your letter from Tuesday, the 48th [day], and thank you as well for your books on the history of our people. As time permits, I will certainly review them, and as you suggested at the end of your letter, I will write my comments on them as they occur to me.
I read with interest in your letter about your impression from the words of Chassidus that you heard during your visit. In accordance with the saying of our Sages: "Great is study that leads to action," and furthermore—"Not study is the main thing but action," there is strong hope that you will continue to bring matters from the world of thought, speech, and feeling into the world of action. This is especially so since you are only in an important Jewish community, where you surely strive to make it worthy of its name—a holy community.
And we have been assured: "One who comes to purify" (and according to the precise explanation of Admor HaZaken, author of Tanya and Shulchan Aruch—not only to purify himself but also to purify others), he is assisted.
With honor and blessing.
P.S. You were very generous with praise in your letter and even exaggerated it; surely, as above, your intent was regarding Chassidus and its matters. May it be G‑d's will that each of us merit to be saturated with and a channel for its Torah and directives—and at the same time that these things come from the heart so they enter the heart.
Summary
The Rebbe encourages transforming inspiration from Chassidus into concrete action within one's community, highlighting that true learning leads to deeds and urging us all to become both vessels for Chassidus and sources who inspire others.
