לכתבו אודות מחשבות זרות בשעת הלימוד ותפלה, ידועה העצה לזה, אשר יהי' הספר או הסידור פתוח לפניו בעת הלימוד והתפלה, והאותיות אוחזות את המחשבה ותופסות אותה.
ומאחר שהובטחנו יגעת ומצאת, וזכה ללמוד בישיבה הק' תומכי תמימים, מיסודם ובהנהלתם של רבותינו נשיאינו, בודאי כשילמוד בהתמדה ושקידה ימשיך זה ברכת השי"ת בכל המצטרך לו.

In response to your letter from the 27th of Tevet—which was received after a considerable delay—at an auspicious time, you will be mentioned at the holy resting place of my father-in-law, the Rebbe, of blessed memory, in accordance with the content of your letter.
Regarding your question about foreign thoughts during study and prayer, it is well known that the advice for this is to have the book or siddur open before you during learning and prayer; the letters grasp and capture one's thoughts.
And since we are assured "You have toiled and you have found," and you merit to study in the holy yeshivah Tomchei Temimim, founded and led by our Rebbeim, certainly if you learn with diligence and perseverance this will draw down G‑d's blessing in all that you need.
