In response to your letter, I was pleased to read about your set times for studying Chabad Chassidus. The strong hope is that, as our Sages teach, "Great is study for it leads to action," your conduct also follows the guidance of Chassidus and its customs. Nothing stands in the way of willpower—especially since we have been assured that "one who comes to purify is assisted."

Regarding your question about a distinguished proposal which, as you wrote, is not so religious etc., since there are many levels in interpreting such an expression, you should present the situation in the necessary detail before your friends in the community as is customary among Israel and in the style written: "Salvation comes with much counsel."

To your question—since, as our Sages say, a person's sustenance is allotted from Rosh Hashanah—what place is there for the advice found in Shas and elsewhere regarding livelihood and wealth? See Likkutei Torah by our master the Alter Rebbe at the end of Parshas Korach and especially the explanation in Kuntres U'Maayan by my revered father-in-law (the Rebbe Rashab) of blessed memory.

The hope is that you know of and also keep up with the three well-known daily study portions: Chumash, Tehillim, and Tanya.
