In response to your letter regarding making use of the completion of ten years since the founding and beginning of the village, and you ask my opinion whether to get involved in this.

On this matter, the starting point must be from the other end; that is, are there suitable people who will handle organizing this in the proper way? If so, then it is appropriate. For such a matter, a detailed and well-founded plan is needed from the outset—even more than for other village matters—since it can only be done once every several years. Therefore, it is essential to make every effort to fully utilize the celebration.

It is understood that 'who can discern mistakes' is said regarding everyone; but this is only an excuse after one has tried everything within one's power—at least with reasonable certainty.

Certainly it is unnecessary to add that if proper attention is given, one can hope for the highest and most important results from such a celebration.

It is also unnecessary to point out that this is not necessarily tied to a specific day; for in our times it has become customary that even matters connected with a particular time—the celebrations and their utilization are possible even after that time. There are many reasons to find for changing the date if there is benefit in doing so.
