לפלא ולתמי' שכנראה, אף אין ענין אחד שדעת כולם או הרוב שלהם שוה. ועוד זאת שמחזיקים בהנהגה - שעל כל דבר קטן או גדול צריכה להיות דוקא גזירה מעבר לים. והרי אי אפשר שהנהגה זו לא תפריע להתפתחות העינים, ובפרט שהשאלה ותשובה מהתם להכא ומהכא להתם לוקחת כשבועים. וצריך הי' למצוא עצה איך לתקן הנ"ל כי הרי סו"ס כל חברי הרשת הם מאנ"ש וחסידי כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע, אשר על שמו נקראים מוסדות הרשת ומתאים לכוונתו צריכים הם להתנהל וכו'. וק"ל.
ז"ע נתקבל מכתבו מכ' טבת, ות"ח על הבשו"ט (על סדר מכתבו): שהוטב הסיכוים לארגן הכינוס דיום ההילולא יו"ד שבט, ושהוטבו היחסים בהנוגע לביה"ס בזרנוגה, והעיקר שכנראה עזב את המרה שחורה מביט בעין יפה יותר בהנוגע להתפתחות בית ספר זה, וכידעו פתגם כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר זצוקללה"ה נבג"מ זי"ע - כאשר חיל הולך במלחמה עליו ללכת במארש של שמחה ונצחון, וזה גופא מוסיף בו כח ומגדל ומקדים הנצחון, והנמשל מובן.

נתקבל מכתבו הדחוף (ויעוין היטב לעיל ד"ה לפלא). וכבר כתבתי להררד"ח שי' שאין הזמן גרמא למעט עתה מספר התלמידים-ות בביה"ס, כ"א אדרבה להיפך. אף שמספר הכתות אין נוגע כ"כ.
- בנוגע להשתתפות בימי עיון - יש להשתמט מזה בכל התחבולות אם רק אפשרי - אבל באופן דיפלומטי און ניט איבערציען די סטרונע בדיבורים חריפים, וגם לא לאמר שזהו גזירה מעבר לים. והרי צ"ל מובן וגם פשוט שאין השקפת מורי חב"ד כהשקפת הפוהמ"ז ואפילו המזרחי, שב"כ שלהם מנהלי "ימים" אלו, וגם אין זה מתפקידם להכנס עמהם בויכוחים עד"ז.
בנוגע להשתתפות בהוצאות הקמת הצריפים וכיו"ב - לפי ידיעתי במצב קופת הרשת, אפשרית רק באופן סמלי, אבל לא בסכומים גדולים. - ויש להרבות בהשתדלות במשרדים המתאימים ויתוקן, צעד אחר צעד, בעז"ה.

My letter in response to your previous letter has surely been received by now, and in response to your letter from the 15th of Teves: It is surprising and puzzling that apparently there is not even one matter on which everyone or even the majority agrees. Furthermore, they maintain a practice that for every small or large matter there must be a decree from overseas. It is impossible that this approach does not hinder progress in these matters—especially since questions and answers from there to here and here to there take about two weeks. A solution must be found to correct this situation because after all, all members of the network are from Anash and Chassidim of my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal (may his merit protect us), after whom the institutions are named and according to whose intention they should be run, etc. And this is clear.
This is what I received in your letter from the 20th of Teves, and thank you for the good news (in order of your letter): that prospects have improved for organizing the gathering on Yud Shevat (the day of the hilula), that relations regarding the school in Zarnuga have improved, and most importantly it seems you have left behind your melancholy and are looking more positively at this school's development. As my revered father-in-law the Rebbe zatzal would say: when a soldier goes out to war he must march with joy and victory; this itself gives him strength and brings about victory sooner—and the lesson is clear.

Your urgent letter was received (see above at "It is surprising"). I have already written to Reb David Chanzin that now is not the time to reduce the number of students in the school—on the contrary, quite the opposite. The number of classes does not matter so much. Regarding participation in study days—one should avoid this by all means if possible—but diplomatically and without overstraining things with harsh words; also do not say it is a decree from overseas. It should be understood clearly that Chabad's perspective is not like Poalei Agudat Yisrael's or even Mizrachi's—their leaders run these "days," and it is not our role to enter into debates with them on such matters.
Regarding participation in expenses for building huts etc.—to my knowledge of the network's finances, only symbolic participation is possible but not large sums. Efforts should be increased with appropriate offices; things will improve step by step with G‑d's help.
