במענה על מכתביו מיו"ד וי"ג טבת:
א) ת"ח על הבשו"ט מהטבת בריאות מר ישראל שי' הענקין ותקותי שלעת קבלת מכתבי זה מצבו עוד השתפר, ויודיע בשו"ט בזה. כן אם יודע חוו"ד הרופאים ואופני הרפואה - בטח יודיע.
ב) במ"ש ע"ד הסברא להשתדל להגדיל איכות ישיבת א"ת בפיטסבורג בכדי שיתאים גם בשביל התלמידים פייגינסאן וגארבער שיחיו שבאו עתה מצרפת. הנה כמדומה, שבין הת' דעתה והת' שבאו מצרפת עדיין חסרים איזה כתות בינתים, ולכן קשה הדבר שיהי' בהמשך אחד. ובעיקר איני רואה שיוכל למצוא משפיעים בחסידות וראשי ישיבה המתאימים להתלמידים דצרפת, ובפרט שאינם אלא אחדים. אם יש אצלו תקוה (א אויסקוק) שאפשר להשיג משפיעים ור"י ע"ד הנ"ל, עכ"פ במשך הזמן, אולי כדאי הי' להתענין אם דבר אפשרי הוא מצד ההוצאות שבדבר והן מצד האישים, ואז לא מופרך הדבר שלשנה הבע"ל יהי' מקום לחשוב עד"ז, כיון שלזמן ההוא הרי גם תגדל הכתה המסיימת שבהישיבה עתה, אבל להתחיל בזה באמצע הזמן, לכאורה, אין כדאי.
ג) אתענין לדעת בפרטיות, עד כמה שידוע לו, מצבם הגשמי דמר..

In response to your letters from the 10th and 13th of Teves:
a) Thank you for the good news about the improvement in the health of Mr. Yisrael Henkin, and I hope that by the time you receive this letter his condition has improved even more; please continue to share good news about this. Also, if you know the doctors' opinions and treatment methods—certainly inform me.
b) Regarding what you wrote about the idea to try to raise the quality of the Achai Temimim yeshiva in Pittsburgh so that it will also be suitable for students Feigenson and Garber who have now come from France: It seems that between the current students and those who came from France, there are still some missing intermediate classes, so it is difficult for this to be continuous. Mainly, I do not see how it would be possible to find mashpi'im in Chassidus and roshei yeshiva suitable for the students from France, especially since they are only a few individuals. If you have hope (an outlook) that it is possible to obtain such mashpi'im and roshei yeshiva as mentioned above—even over time—perhaps it would be worthwhile to look into whether this is possible both financially and regarding personnel. Then it would not be unreasonable that next year there would be room to consider this matter, since by then the graduating class in the yeshiva will also have grown; but to start this in the middle of the term does not seem worthwhile.
