Shalom u'Vrachah! [Adar 5721]
It is astonishing that people talk and talk, but when it comes to action—everyone thinks the message is meant for someone else, not for themselves! Many times the saying and instruction of our Rebbeim has been cited: Tracht gut, vet zayn gut (think good and it will be good)—meaning that positive thought helps in this matter. Yet, on the contrary, some "invent" negative thoughts, and even though we are in the month of Adar when we are commanded to increase in joy, they remain in sadness (see Tanya on this), etc.
And we conclude with words of royalty: Tracht gut vet zayn gut—openly and visibly.
Summary
The Rebbe teaches that positive thinking is not just for others but for ourselves. Especially in Adar, we must increase in joy and avoid sadness, trusting that thinking good truly brings revealed good.
