Shalom u'Vrachah!

After the longest interruption, your letter from the 29th of Menachem Av was received—Eve of Rosh Chodesh Elul, the month of mercy. It is understood and obvious that there is absolutely no matter of distance or the like, G‑d forbid. I have already written several times to many people among Anash that sometimes due to the abundance of matters a response is delayed, and one should not interpret this in any distorted way. My hope is that at least from now on there will be no room for such concerns as mentioned above.

Especially according to the Baal Shem Tov's instruction regarding "Serve Hashem with joy" and with the strongest confidence.

As we stand in the month of Elul—the month of mercy—whose combination is: "And charity will be for us because" (Devarim 6:25; Mishnas Chassidim Maseches Elul at its beginning). May it be His will that our service to Hashem will be as explained by the Ohr HaChaim HaKadosh on this verse: service out of love, and the ultimate love—not for any ulterior motive. See Kuntres HaAvodah chapter 5—that love which is not dependent on anything (stemming from yechidah) also affects action, as in the conclusion of the verse: "to do." And just as water reflects a face to a face (so too is the heart of man to man), so too from Above will be drawn down—in a manner of love and kindness—then this drawing down is without limits or constraints and reaches all the way down both materially and spiritually together.
