Shalom u'Vrachah!

After the longest pause, your letter from the 21st of Iyar was received with the good news that you began learning on Shabbat Kodesh in synagogues in Jaffa, studying discourses of Chassidus.

May it be G‑d's will that you continue this with added strength and increased enthusiasm, as with all matters of Torah, mitzvos, and holiness which we are commanded to elevate in sanctity. And since this command is constant—that is, actions must always ascend—this applies especially to matters of the inner dimension of Torah. As explained in the holy Zohar that it is called "the soul of the Torah," every addition to the soul—which is itself simple (see Tanya ch. 51)—adds to all 248 limbs and 365 sinews in the body. The analogy regarding Torah is understood. From this comes a clear directive: every effort and endeavor in this area is worthwhile.

These days are auspicious times, especially as we approach the time of the giving of our Torah on the first day of Shavuos—the two-hundredth yahrzeit of our teacher, the Baal Shem Tov z"l—which this year falls on Wednesday. As our Rebbe the Alter Rebbe said: on this day "the luminaries were taken and suspended." This should suffice for understanding.

With blessings for receiving the Torah with joy and inwardness and for good news in all above-mentioned matters.
