נעם לי לקרות בו מההצעה לערוך כנוס של תלמידי ביה"ס במחוז שלו בקשר לשנת המאתים להסתלקות הילולא של הבעש"ט.
ומובן שכיון שמוזכר בזה גם נגינה, צריך להבטיח (באווארענען) שתהי' רק ע"י הילדים והגברים לבד, וק"ל.
בהנוגע להפרדה, הרי באם שזה אפשרי, כדאי לעשות הכנוס בבת אחת לילדים ולילדות, בכדי שיובלט ענין ההפרדה, אבל פשוט באם אי אפשר להבטיח ההפרדה או ספק אפילו, ועוד יותר ענין הנגינה, הרי אין ברירה וצ"ל התנאי דאי אפשר בלא"ה - שיהי' שני כנוסים.
במ"ש אודות חילוק בתור מתנה, - נמסר להמל"ח ע"ד הקונטרס מנחה מעריב, ואולי כדאי להעתיק השיחה דבגן ישראל כאן ללה"ק, שמתאימה להתלמידים-ות מגיל הנ"ל, והרי באו בה פתגמים מכל נשיאינו.

In response to your letter from the 9th of Nissan. I was pleased to read your proposal to organize a gathering of the schoolchildren in your district in connection with the two hundredth anniversary of the passing (yahrzeit) of the Baal Shem Tov. Since music is also mentioned, it is necessary to ensure (bavarnen) that it will be performed only by the children and men, and that is sufficient.
Regarding separation: if possible, it is preferable to hold the gathering for boys and girls together so that the matter of separation will be emphasized. However, if it is not possible to guarantee separation or even if there is doubt, especially regarding music, then there is no choice but to make it a condition that if it cannot be otherwise—it should be two separate gatherings.
Regarding distributing gifts: information about the Minchah Maariv kuntres has been given to hamelach. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to translate into Hebrew the sichah from Gan Yisrael here, which is appropriate for students of this age group and contains sayings from all our leaders.
At an auspicious time, all those you mention will be remembered at the holy resting place of my revered father-in-law, the Rebbe zatzal nishmaso Eden, for whatever they need. May you have good news in all these matters.
