און אויסניצענדיג די געלעגנהייט, וואס אלץ איז דאך בהשגחה פרטית, אויך אייער ווענדען זיך צו מיר, וויל איך אויפמערקזאם מאכען אייך אויף דער נויטיקייט צו קובע זיין עתים ללימוד פנימיות התורה, וואס בדורנו איז דאס נתגלה געווארען בתורת החסידות, און ווי ערקלערט אין מערערע ערטער און בפרט אין דעם קונטרס עץ חיים לכ"ק אדמו"ר מוהרש"ב נ"ע, און בפרט אין דעם דור פון עקבתא דמשיחא [ווי מ'זעהט דאס לויט אלע סימנים וועלכע זיינען אויסגערעכענט אין מסכת סוטה] איז דאס א מוז, פאר די אלע וועלכע האבען געלערענט אין א ישיבה (אפילו מחוץ לתומכי תמימים) און ממש א חובת גברא פאר יעדערן, צו צוגעבען וואס מער ליכטיקייט, וויבאלד אז מ'זעהט אז עס ווערט מתקיים, דער אין לך יום שקללתו מרובה וכו' און דער חשך ווערט אלץ שטארקער, ביז אז אומרים לחשך אור ולמר מתוק, דארפמען צוגעבען אלץ מער אין אור ומאור שבתורה, זוהי פנימיות התורה, ואין לך דבר העומד בפני הרצון, און בפרט אז איר האט פילע באקאנטע און פריינד אויך צווישען תלמידי ישיבת תומכי תמימים, מיט וועלכע איר האט זיך געטראפען אויף אייער וואנדער-וועג וכו'.

In response to your letter from the 14th of Iyar, in which you write a summary of your life's events and conclude by describing the difficulties you are currently experiencing regarding settling into a livelihood and also concerning shidduchim.
Since, according to your letter, you have various suggestions regarding a position in kedushah—either as a shochet u'bodek or as a mashgiach—and considering that such positions are generally sought after now in America, especially when combined with being a mohel or baal koreh, one should especially look into arranging oneself in this area in America. Of course, this should not come at the expense of matters of Shulchan Aruch; but according to what is known about this field, it can be accomplished with proper effort. Particularly given your connections—and even when considering a shidduch from another country—it has recently become known that in other countries it is considered significant when one can state that they have steady employment in America.
Taking advantage of this opportunity—which is itself by Divine Providence—as is also your turning to me, I want to draw your attention to the necessity of setting fixed times for learning the inner dimension of Torah. In our generation this has been revealed through Toras HaChassidus, as explained in many places and especially in the kuntres Etz Chaim by the Rebbe Rashab of blessed memory. Especially in this generation of Ikvesa d'Meshicha [as we see from all the signs listed in Maseches Sotah], this is an absolute must for all who have learned in yeshiva (even outside Tomchei Temimim), and truly an individual obligation for everyone—to add as much light as possible. Since we see that 'there is no day whose curse is not greater than that of the previous one,' and darkness keeps increasing until 'they call darkness light and bitter sweet,' we must add ever more light and illumination from Torah—this being the inner dimension of Torah. There is nothing that stands before willpower. Especially since you have many acquaintances and friends among students of Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim whom you met on your travels etc.

P.S. You mention in your letter that some of your children are in Chicago, where among the rabbis there are also members of Anash. Perhaps it would be appropriate for you to connect with them if you think your children need anything regarding matters of Judaism—perhaps they can accomplish something in this regard.
