Shalom u'Vrachah!
And it is correct; indeed, the Torah has given permission to the doctor to heal, and it is understood that this should be done with joy and gladness of heart, especially according to what is written: Me'Hashem Mitzadei Gever Konanu (From the L‑rd are a man's steps established) (and as explained by my revered father-in-law, the Previous Rebbe: Divine Providence leads a person; only that it must be) u'Darko Yachpotz (and his way He desires), meaning that he should fulfill his mission there willingly. As explained in Chassidus, 'desire' is the inner aspect of will. And indeed, none of us knows the full extent of things, but surely in the place where he travels he will be able to rectify matters of Judaism in general and spreading the wellsprings in particular.
But as explained above, it is understood that this must be done with joy and gladness of heart; through this, bodily health will also increase and success in his mission at that place will be enhanced.
And certainly it is unnecessary to emphasize again that his mission must be carried out together with following the doctor's instructions—that is, without harming bodily health at all. And since both matters are mitzvos (for maintaining a healthy and whole body is one of the ways of Hashem), surely he can accomplish both together—and on the contrary: one mitzvah brings another.
As you requested, this answer is being sent without waiting for your turn.
Blessings for good news in all mentioned above.

Summary
The Rebbe teaches that fulfilling one's professional mission as a doctor and safeguarding one's health are both mitzvos. By acting with joy and following medical guidance, one can succeed in both areas—each mitzvah strengthens the other.
