במענה למכתבם מי"א כסלו, בו כותבים אודות הצעה לקנות שטח קרקע לביה"ח וכו' והצדדים החיובים שבזה.
ולפלא שאין מזכירים באם יש איזה צד להיפך, והרי מובא בכ"מ ומהם בשיחת י"ט כסלו תרצ"ד של כ"ק מו"ח אדמו"ר, שאין דבר בעולם שלא יהי' בו תערובות טו"ר, ומה שמענין אותי אם אין בהנ"ל נתינת מקום לתרעומות מהנהלת ביה"ח של החרדים, שכמדומה כבר הציעו וגם בקשו שישתתפו בקניית ביה"ח שלהם וכו'. אין כוונתי להגדיל החשש, כי ההצעה אודותה כותבים במכתבם נכונה היא מצ"ע, ולכן אין להחמיר בזה ואדרבה, וכבר ידוע שיטתי בכל עניני אנ"ש בכל מקום שהם, ובהנוגע אליהם כפי שכתבתי זה כ"פ לאנ"ש שי' במחנם, שיש בידם אפשרית גדולה להרבות פעולות בכל השטחים, אלא שמפני טעמים מוזרים בתכלית אין עושים זה. ומובן שכל פעולה של החסידים לא רק רצוי' היא אלא טובה וגם מוכרחת, והלואי שבזה יקוים דבר משנה מצוה גוררת מצוה, שהישג אחד יגרום אפילו בע"כ התרחבות בכל שאר הענינים עד שתתרבה הדיעה ויבואו לידי הכרה, שההתרחבות בכל השטחים לא רק אפשרית אלא גם מוכרחת ולא רק שלא תגע בענינים הקיימים אלא עוד תסייע לביסוסם והתפתחותם.
המורם מהנ"ל, שבאם אין צדדים שלילים ברורים, יש להשתדל בקנין קרקע האמור ובימיהם ובימינו תבא הגאולה השלימה והאמתית ויקוים היעוד ואת רוח הטומאה אעביר מן הארץ ומחה ה' דמעה וגו', ויחיינו מיומים וביום השלישי יקימנו ונחי' לפניו הנשמה מאוחדה עם הגוף בעוה"ז. והעולה על כולנה - שיהי' חיים נצחיים.
בודאי יתועדו ביום הבהיר י"ט כסלו הבע"ל באופן הרצוי ויהי' רישומה של ההתועדות ניכר בכל ימות השנה של ר"ה זה במחדו"מ גם בחיי היום יומי.

In response to your letter from the 11th of Kislev, in which you write about a proposal to purchase a plot of land for the hospital, etc., and the positive aspects of this. It is surprising that you do not mention if there is any aspect to the contrary, as it is brought in many places—including in the Yud-Tes Kislev 5694 sichah of my father-in-law the Rebbe—that there is nothing in the world without a mixture of good and bad. What interests me is whether this matter might give rise to complaints from the management of the hospital of the chareidim, who apparently already proposed and requested that you participate in purchasing their hospital, etc.
My intention is not to exaggerate this concern, because the proposal you write about in your letter is correct in itself; therefore, there is no need to be stringent about it—on the contrary. My approach regarding all matters of Anash everywhere—and specifically regarding them as I have written many times to Anash in your community—is that they have great potential to increase activities in all areas; yet for extremely odd reasons they do not do so. It is understood that every action by chassidim is not only desirable but also good and even necessary. May it be fulfilled here: mitzvah goreres mitzvah (one mitzvah brings another), so that one achievement will inevitably lead to expansion in all other matters until understanding increases and they come to recognize that expansion in all areas is not only possible but also necessary—and not only will it not harm existing matters but will even help strengthen and develop them.
The conclusion from all the above: if there are no clear negative aspects, one should strive for the aforementioned land purchase. In their days and in our days may come the complete and true redemption, and may be fulfilled the prophecy: "And I will remove the spirit of impurity from the land," "and Hashem will wipe away tears," etc., "He will revive us after two days; on the third day He will raise us up and we will live before Him"—the soul united with the body in this world. And above all—that there should be eternal life.
Certainly you will hold a gathering on the upcoming bright day of Yud-Tes Kislev as appropriate, and its impact will be felt throughout all days of this Rosh Hashanah year with renewed strength—even in daily life.
